SINE FM is GO!

SINE FM is Doncaster’s first licenced community radio station – Since its launch in December 2007 it has become the go-to station for the most diverse mix of musical styles you are ever likely to find in the region. In their own words: “Our local volunteer presenters keep our services in touch with the community and our programming mission is simple, we offer something for everyone, promoting under-represented media, music and culture to serve the widest range of communities.”
If you set your dial to 102.6FM across Doncaster right now you will hear the test broadcast. The broadcast coverage is even better than expected says Steve Mundin, (Senior manager of Higher Rhythm, Sine’s physical and spiritual home) – “You can hear us in fm stereo on 102.6 across Doncaster, covering 100,000 households across the town’s central districts plus all industrial and shopping areas which is fantastic. SINE FM was created to provide a platform for creative expression and a distinctive, accessible community radio service, celebrating the diversity of Doncaster.”
To celebrate this landmark event, SINE FM will be taking over The Marketplace in Doncaster on September 26th to host a day of music and celebration. Bands set to appear include a leading U2 tribute act (if their music is as convincing a tribute as their look, U2 fans are in for a treat!) – The Beaus, Darren Bell, Ross Cameron and Slash Bikini – plus of course plenty of activity from the SINE FM DJs…
It genuinely is a great thing that Doncaster can boast an independent, diverse radio station. Check out the SINE FM site for more information on the shows currently running.
