introducingBBC Introducing have introduced a brand new way of getting your music heard by the right people. The new BBC introducing uploader is a super fast way of getting your music directly to any one of the BBC introducing DJs.

The uploader requires you to register (to enable the station to retain details of the Artist and contact information) and each band can upload up to three tracks per month. The station will then direct the tracks to the relevant local show. Once the track has successfully landed with the Radio 6 Music team they will contact you to let you know who has listened to it and what show (if any!) will be airing it.

If your track hits the right spot it can/will/should be sent upward to the Radio 6 introducing shows (Tom Robinson / Steve Lamacq) or even to the introducing champions up at the holier-than-thou R-R-R-adio One (one… one…). In addition, with introducing stages at this years  Glastonbury, Reading & Leeds and T in the Park festivals maybe it’s your year to be playing in a field full of Cath-Kidston-designer-wellie-wearing-first-time-out-of-the-house-without-daddy’s-credit-card festival goers…

Head over to: bbc.co.uk/music/introducing/uploader/ and upload what you got!

  1. Tom Robinson played ‘Airburst’ on his Introducing show a few weeks back and, of course, they’re big faves of Ian H. Once you’ve sent your tracks in get some of your MySpace friends to go to the introducing website and request one of your tracks.

Here at Destroy before Reading are very excited to be building a library of live sessions of local (and not so local) bands. Often in association with Higher Rhythm Studios, the sessions are a unique snapshot of bands in session, playing live.
